Flyer Killed at Iwo

S/Sgt. Albert B. Le Roy, 36, of 45 East Reid Place, Verona, was killed in action over Iwo Jima March 26, according to a War Department telegram received by his wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Pfeifer of West Orange. S/Sgt. Le Roy was an aerial engineer on a Black Widow night fighter.

Born in Brooklyn, he spent his boyhood in Newark, attending a parochial school here. He was married about 13 years ago and went to Verona from East Orange in 1939. Before entering the Army November 11, 1942, he was employed at Wright Aeronautical Corp., Paterson. He went to Hawaii last September and flew to the South Pacific in January. He was based on Iwo a month ago.

Besides his wife, S/Sgt. Le Roy leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Le Roy; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Braun and Mrs. Agnes Drake, and a brother, Edward Le Roy Jr., all of North Arlington. A nephew, Pfc. William Braun, was wounded January near Luxembourg.

Memorial Services for S/Sgt. Albert B. Le Roy, 36, of 45 East Reid Place, Verona, P-61 aerial engineer who was killed in action March 26 over Iwo Jima, will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Orange, tomorrow at 11 A.M.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Pfeifer; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Le Roy; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Braun and Mrs. Agnes Drake, and a brother, Edward Le Roy Jr., all of North Arlington.
