Pvt. Robert O. Fielding

Verona Residence: 16 Maple Terrace

Pvt. Robert Fielding of 16 Maple Terrace, Verona, was killed in action in France September 17, according to a War Department telegram received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fielding. A veteran of the battle of St. Lo, Pvt. Fielding was in an infantry anti-tank company of the same division in which his father served in World War I.

Born 19 years ago in Orange, he lived eight years in Verona. He was graduated from the high school there in 1943 after being a member of the Student Council and president of his class two years. In August that year he entered the Army. He left this country last January and went into France D-Day plus 2.

A memorial service for the soldier will be held Sunday at 4 P.M. at Verona Presbyterian Church by Rev. Dr. Gorman Richards.
