Wife Told Verona Man Died In Action
Pvt. Max Novick has been reported killed in action September 25, according to word received by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Novick of 553 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona.
Pvt. Novick, 35, entered the Army a year ago and went overseas last February. He served in Italy with an infantry unit and had been awarded the Combat Infantryman’s badge. Before
entering service, he was co-owner of a United Cigar store at the Bloomfield Avenue address. Born in Hudson, N. Y., he lived in Brooklyn before moving to Verona three years ago.
Pvt. Novick is a son of Louis Novick of Brooklyn. A brother, Pvt. William Novick, is stationed at Camp Gordon, Ga. He leaves also another brother. Moe Novick, and three sisters, Mrs. Tillie Cohen, Mrs. Shirley Silverberg and his twin, Mrs. Ruth Franzel, all of Brooklyn
